Master Key Experience Week 5 – Let It Go

As I write this week I’m reminded of how this process involves some interesting things like forming good habits, being an observer and letting go of things, and the obstacles holding us back. So what’s the first thing that pops up on an image search for “Let It Go”? Lots of images of Elsa from the Disney movie “Frozen”. Like most parents with children, I’ve heard enough of “Let It Go” that the refrain easily gets stuck in the head. But I was struck by something interesting when looking at the lyrics.

It’s funny how some distance makes everything seem small

And the fears that once controlled me can’t get to me at all

It’s time to see what I can do

To test the limits and break through

No right, no wrong, no rules for me

I’m free

Coincidence that I’m seeing a connection to the Master Keys? Over these 26 weeks it’s about letting go of the old blueprint in order to become a self-directed thinker who doesn’t follow the River of Dreams. It’s about letting go of habits that are bad, preventing the greatness that is inside from shining through. And it’s about letting go of opinions, those sometimes nasty things that cause major rifts and divisions in relationships and life in general.

Haanel emphasizes this thing of letting go with the daily sit (which I’m continuing to see improvements with). It’s a time of at least 15 minutes where the instruction is to let go physically and mentally. Total relaxation where as he says in 4.29 “let go of all adverse conditions, such as hatred, anger, worry, jealousy, envy, sorrow, trouble or disappointment of any kind.” This frees the subconscious, which 90% of our mental life is according to Haanel, to as 5.11 indicates “weave any kind of material we want.” So after completing this sit and mental house-cleaning daily, the material left to weave is “suitable for the making of the kind of ideals or mental images we desire to realize.”

So while the focus of the song in Frozen may be different than what has to be done in the Master Key Experience, as Elsa says it is time to “let it go, let it go” so I can continue moving closer to the person I wish to become.

So what will week 6 bring? Stay tuned.
