Master Key Experience Week 14 – No To The Resolutions
So if you were like most people and made resolutions for New Year’s how are you doing at keeping them?
That’s not something I’m worried about this year because I didn’t make any. In the past I’ve occasionally made them, only to be kicking myself a month, or a few weeks or even a couple of days into the new year. Then it becomes a cycle of I’ll start that tomorrow over and over as you continually beat yourself up for falling short. Notice how the negativity re-enforces the negative behavior and negative results?
This is the result of doing what most people do which is focusing on the situation that isn’t satisfying. It’s exhibit A of the law of growth at play. Remember how I’ve mentioned in previous posts how what we think about grows? How whatever we concentrate our thoughts on whether positive or negative manifests itself? As Haanel points out in the introduction to Part 14.
“Most persons concentrate intently upon unsatisfactory conditions, thereby giving the condition that measure of energy and vitality which is necessary in order to supply a vigorous growth.”
Charles Haanel, The Master Key System
No wonder most of us fail at those New Year’s resolutions!
Haanel offers an alternative that has proven successful for many who are willing to apply the Master Key System in their lives.
“If you deny unsatisfactory conditions, you are withdrawing the creative power of your thought from these conditions. You are cutting them away at the root. You are sapping their vitality.”
Charles Haanel, The Master Key System
Tremendous re-enforcement of the importance of focusing on positive conditions and things. Focusing on the positive, defining our dharma and taking action steps to assist the subconscious mind in making it a reality, starts in the world within. And it starts specifically with mental attitude. For as Haanel mentions in Part 14,
“If you wish harmonious conditions in your life, you must develop an harmonious mental attitude.”
Charles Haanel, The Master Key System
Has the light bulb gone off now for why resolutions get you nothing in the end?
