Let’s talk about miracles. Do you believe in miracles?

Obviously the sports world is full of miracles, starting with the 1980 U.S. Hockey team “Miracle on Ice” victory over the Soviet Union to win Olympic gold. And in 1996 there was the U.S. gymnastics team winning gold at the Summer Olympics, defeating Russia for the 1st time when Kerri Strug overcame severe pain to land a perfect vault. As a football fan I can remember numerous victories by my Green Bay Packers in games where victory seemed improbable. And there’s the NFL playoff win by the Tennessee Titans in January 2000, the “Music City Miracle”, when they shocked the Buffalo Bills with a 75 yard kickoff return started with a lateral pass with 16 seconds left. Or how about the “Monday Night Miracle” of October 2000 when the New York J-E-T-S, scored 30 4th quarter points enroute to a thrilling overtime victory over the Miami Dolphins.

In the Bible we find the parting of the Red Sea when Moses led the Israelites out of Egypt, along with the walls of Jericho crumbling. We also read about the Resurrection and the miracles performed by Jesus, the Master Teacher. These include the feeding of the 5000, turning water into wine and walking on water to name a few. In modern times we here about people surviving horrific weather events, medical situations and terrible accidents where survival seemed impossible.

Do you believe in miracles?

Miracles really are all around us and it doesn’t include just big occurrences. Miracles actually occur every day, we just don’t realize it because we don’t take the time observe and recognize them. Ultimately most people miss out by not giving themselves permission to observe these great and wonderful miracles that occur.

In fact did you know that miracles are actually already in us? Each breath that we take, each movement that we make, each beat of our hearts is a miracle in itself. Plus every though that we have is a miracle. As such miracles surround us daily, from inventions and technological advances to blades of grass and pestering bugs. It also goes deeper than these surface observations because every time that you notice a quality of another human being, you are witnessing a tiny miracle. Once these recognitions become habits, you start seeing miracles occurring everywhere as they grow in abundance! This point is driven home by Charles Haanel when discussing spiritual wealth or if you will miracles.

“Unless you recognize and use it; it will have no value. The one and only condition of spiritual power is use or recognition.”

Charles Haanel, The Master Key Experience

This journey continues to be eye-opening as I’ve become more of an observer of the things taking place around me.
