Master Key Experience Week 4 – The Power of “I”

2

The journey continues and has gotten interesting. For the last four weeks in addition to doing daily readings, a fifteen minute silent sit, writing a “definite major purpose” (DMP) and documenting the journey there have been index cards. On these index cards are documented promises, small services to complete each week or perhaps every day. Each of card includes the phrase “I always keep my promises [name]”. After 4 weeks it’s resulted in tiny shifts for many participants in this year’s Master Key Mastermind Alliance because as Esme says, it works! The power of “I’

This week an affirmation has been added “I can be what I will to be”. It speaks to the power that the mind has, if you choose to self-direct it. As Charles Haanel mentions in Part 4.9 of the Master Key System, it is “one of the strongest affirmations which you can use for the purpose of strengthening the will and realizing your power to accomplish”. It’s a terrific compliment to the phrase we’ve been repeating this last four weeks and also to the DMP that has been developed. It helps immensely when it comes to developing good habits and ultimately controlling the “world within”. The power of “I”.

As Og talks about in scroll 1 of the Greatest Salesman, there is an individual aspect to I. It starts with the opening line of “Today I start a new life”. It ends in the 2nd to last paragraph with “the seed of success I [will] swallow”. And there is the first law, “I [will] form good habits and become their slave”. But what is interesting is that the power of I is not individual in nature. Haanel points out that “the real nature of this ‘I’ is spiritual” and that the I that controls the world within (and ultimately the world without) is “one with the Infinite ‘I’ which is the universal Energy or Spirit, usually called God”. This is why giving and being of service to others is so important. For at the end of the day we are all connected through the power of “I”.

Speaking of giving and being of service, this week also included a new “I promise” related to giving that I absolutely love, perhaps because my DMP includes lots of giving back. In fact it is four promises related to the Law of Giving because as Haanel mentions in 4.21 regarding the Universal, it “is constantly seeking to express itself, to be of service , and it seeks the channel whereby it can find the greatest activity, where it can do the most good, where it can be of greatest service to mankind”. Therefore when we are being of service to others and giving without expectation since it will ultimately be returned to us in some manner. The power of “I”.

Can you see why it’s so important to become a self-directed thinker, so that you’re controlling your “world within”?
