Sound Of Silence Is Very Important

Sound of Silence

Sound of silence.  Have you ever taken the time to consider just how important it is to one’s success?  In the midst of all the noise that is around us daily it’s common to take a few minutes here and there to step away.  To take a moment to just relax, compose oneself and obtain a little rejuvenation.  Yet those who have experienced tremendous success, who have uncovered the greatness that is inside take “the sound of silence” a step farther.

Why Silence?

One of the things that I’ve discovered the last two years on my journey of self-discovery is the importance of silence. Over and over throughout the courageous adventure known as the Master Key Experience, the sound of silence is referred to.  As I mentioned in Week 20 last year, it’s powerful. It’s hard to ignore just how relevant as it is mentioned in so many of the readings.  Consider these quotes from the Master Key System.

Realize that the Silence offers an ever available and almost unlimited opportunity for awakening the highest conception of Truth. Try to comprehend that Omnipotence itself is absolute silence; all else is change, activity, limitation. Silent thought concentration is therefore the true method of reaching, awakening and then expressing the wonderful potential power of the world within.

Charles Haanel

Or these from Og Mandino regarding reading the scrolls in The Greatest Salesman In the World:

I will read the words in silence when I awake.  Then I will read the words in silence after I have partaken of my midday meal.

Og Mandino

Sound of Silence – An Important Key

Taking the time to sit 15 minutes a day or more in silence provides the opportunity for reflection.  It provides the opportunity to put the subconscious mind to work by providing triggers regarding what I have a burning desire to accomplish in my life.

Spending this time provides the opportunity to really focus on identification of what my definite major purpose is.  It then provides the opportunity to visualize what that looks like when achievement of bliss occurs.  Yet that visualization or the triggers provided via thoughts to the subconscious mind are nothing if the vision, the words remain within the sound of silence.

Time to Act

It’s the remaining within the sound of silence that is the downfall of those who consistently remain followers in the river of dreams.  By refusing the call to take action in order to let their light shine through the darkness.  And that perhaps is a major key for those who achieve their bliss, finding their greatness within and show it the world.  And they show it by taking the road less traveled as self-directed thinkers.  For the self-directed thinkers understand the true value and purpose of the sound of silence.

The quote from Charles Haanel that you shared really does highlight the relevance of silence: “Silent thought concentration is therefore the true method of reaching, awakening and then expressing the wonderful potential power of the world within.” My days with and without deliberate moments of silence and reflection are very different–I prefer the days that I take the time for silence, and paradoxically I find doing so gives me back time. 🙂
